Sprint Planning is a timeboxed meeting at the start of a Sprint where the Scrum Team collaborates to define the Sprint Goal, select Product Backlog items to work on, and plan the work necessary to deliver them.
The Product Owner presents the prioritized Product Backlog items, the Development Team forecasts how much work they can complete, and together they create a plan for the Sprint. This fosters shared understanding and commitment.
During Sprint Planning, the team discusses the highest priority backlog items, breaks them into smaller tasks, estimates effort, and agrees on a Sprint Goal that guides the team.
